I have a 1993 Mercury Capri XR2. Love the car, but, I am on my 5th set of Driver side Front Wheel Bearings and my third Steering knuckle. I got what was supposed to be the most common spacer for the bearings from MidCountry Mustang, however, it ground that set of bearings too. I have a Ford Shop manual and it talks about a special tool to determine exactly which pre-load spacer is required for the particular car (there are 21 listed). My question: Is there someone in central Ohio that has the tools and the knowledge to get this right? Several dealers have told me they do not have the equipment (SPACER SELECTING TOOL T87Gll04-6). Can you help me find a place to help me get my baby back on the road? Thanks, Dave -David , Johnstown3rd
A good friend of mine "Ralph Cumston" 614-383-4668 he is the SERVICE MANAGER at Germain Ford. He has a Master Tech that knows how to fix this issue. I told him I was going to pass his info on to you so you guys can get your baby back on the road.
